Create a New App
The two big decisions: Bundle ID cannot be reused once used, and name/subtitle/keywords drive search and the review impression.
Prerequisites
- App ID (explicit Bundle ID) already created in Apple Developer.
- Confirm the entity (individual/company) and required capabilities are enabled.
- Decide storefront coverage and pricing strategy.
Steps
- Go to Apps → “+” → New App.
- Fill in:
- Name: 80 characters, globally unique, cannot duplicate within your account.
- Primary Language: Sets default localization fallback.
- Bundle ID: Pick the existing App ID; immutable after creation.
- SKU: Internal identifier not visible to users; use project code.
- Platforms: iOS/iPadOS/macOS/tvOS/watchOS.
- Save to enter the app detail page for further setup.
Naming and Keywords
- Avoid trademark infringement; branded names need authorization.
- Subtitle up to 30 chars; highlight the core value.
- Keywords separated by commas; avoid repeating brand/competitor terms.
Common Issues
- Wrong Bundle ID: cannot change; create a new app instead.
- Name taken: change the name or differentiate in subtitle.
- Multi-platform: plan Bundle ID, SKU, and entitlements consistently for universal purchase.
